Meta Architects first project bought our European experience and sensibility to the New Zealand environment. The modest budget was focussed on creating a generous, welcoming house, and achieving the warmest home possible with improvements on standard construction techniques.  

A two-story form was chosen for its thermal efficiency and to allow good use of the small site. The north-facing front garden is raised from the street to create outdoor living privacy while the house and front door allow a suitable level of interaction with the urban environment. A rigorous plan has reduced circulation and unnecessary spaces, and no compromises for functional family living in a modest footprint.
